The United Black Community (UBC) is a coalition of progressive individuals and originations in the Pan-African Community, primary oriented in the Washington D.C. Area. One of UBC’s principal objective is to sponsor community wide events that both bring the community closer together and project the philosophy of Pan-African Nationalism to the broader Black Community. Among the programs currently sponsored by the UBC sponsors are Kwanzaa, Kuzaliwa and Umoja Award. For Kwanzaa we organize various events and publicize the events of others that we feel remain true to its original standards in the Kwanzaa calendar. In order to honor Brother Malcolm X we hold our Kuzaliwa (Happy Birthday) celebration in May and present the Umoja Award to individuals that honor his memory by helping to unite Black people through their work. If you need more information of a program or are interested in working with the UBC, you may contact us by phone at: 202.526.4039, 301.277.7809, 202.526.4122 ; e-mail UBCinDC@yahoo.com, or by mail at P.O. Box 10011, Washington, DC. 20018
